"I found the Gateway course was a really great overview of the complexities and diversity of the Outsourcing role. The course was well structured, clear and broken down into modules that allowed me to work though the different components logically and clearly. Each section contained a study booklet and time to pause and think, which allowed me to think about the application of the content and how each different module applied to my own workplace. The course was a thorough programme which took the learner through the lifecycle of sourcing, and how important the fundamentals are in ensuring a successful sourcing relationship. Having been in Outsourcing for a number of years I was able to use the modules as a checkpoint and revisit of best practise and the importance of comprehensive processes and ways of working. For anyone new to the world of Outsourcing the modules would give a wide-ranging introduction of the core principles and component parts of an outsourcing role that are critical to ensuring success. The format worked for me, (self-learning) with ability to pause and reflect, and complete offline work before completing the online test after each section. This allowed me to go at my own pace. The central dashboard was a great tool for me to check progress and understand how the topics all interlinked. I would recommend the Gateway to people both new to Outsourcing or those familiar and experienced who want to either support their teams with formal accreditation or help with an introduction / induction into all the varying topics within the broad space we work in." Catherine Hancock – Head of Outsource – UK and Ireland, EE “The GSA has delivered their foundation course in external service delivery to approximately 100 Irish public sector managers to date. The course provides a firm grounding that allows practitioners to understand the outsourcing life cycle and its application in a business context."The overwhelming feedback from our participants indicated that they found the course to be well balanced; offering both conceptual and practical elements, delivered by professionals who were highly experienced and knowledgeable in their field.” Kevin Daly, Commercial Delivery Manager, Department of Public Expenditure & Reform, Ireland “It was a full-on session, but I thoroughly enjoyed it… I think the content was set out well to deliver a large amount of topics – I now know what areas I need to focus on. I also think we had a great bunch of delegates – it could have been tricky, given the nature of some of the topics, but everyone was certainly in the right frame of mind.” Lorraine Kritzinger, Relationship Manager, Future Processing “This intensive two day workshop certainly measured up to expectations, it was a good mix of presentation and facilitated interaction. One of the most valuable elements of the course were the different perspectives brought by the various delegates, those from both suppliers and clients. It was good to put yourself into someone else’s shoes, to see what they were expecting and needing from a commercial relationship. A number of very useful models were identified, putting some structure and rigour around what many of us do less formally. Overall, an excellent few days, I came out of the sessions fired-up for the next engagement!” Ian Andrews, Client Principal, Objectivity “I thought the two day programme was extremely thorough and particularly well facilitated. It was somewhat reassuring to see how my industry peers are facing similar challenges and, whilst there isn't necessarily a blueprint we all follow, the themes shared were familiar and there were clearly some good takeaways. Great to meet other outsourcing professionals and share experiences aligned to the content in an open and converse environment". Paul Bone, Head of Outsourcing, Direct Line Group "Undertaking the foundation certificate in outsourcing helped us make real business sense of our own internal framework. It enabled us to share knowledge and best practice across our business in relation to governance, performance management and relationship management. We have gained a real insight into the outsourcing industry through the relationship we have built with the GSA. Darren McKnight, Head of Outsourced Services, Ulster Bank "I attended the one-day Life Cycle Workshop presented by Chris Halward. The content of the course covered ALL the implications around outsourcing and developed my knowledge to the next level. It provided a clear, robust and more importantly a 'useable' structure to help me base any future outsourcing projects around. The varied teaching methods kept the day really interesting i.e. tutor presentation, group exercises and learning from others through group discussion. I would highly recommend!" Ella Gallagher, Buyer / Procurement, UK Asset Resolution "The Performance Management Workshop has enabled me to take another look at strategy in a different light. Chris Halward is probably one of the most engaging directors of professional development I have ever had the privilege to spend the day with. He is knowledgeable, inspirational and charming. The rest of the attendees were top draw, from some of the most forward thinking organisations across the UK, with one of our number traveling from Paris that morning. Alex Michael, Vice President, Head of Client Relations & Business Development LPO (UK), Silverskills "The GSA Diploma program was a great way to develop and share best practice and benefit from expert facilitation and mentoring." Christopher Day, Head of Outsource Management, Phoenix Group "This is an essential path in the maturing of the outsourcing profession." Simon Briskman, Outsourcing Partner, Field Fisher Waterhouse
