The move to corporate sustainability is the biggest change management programme the world’s 1 million+ procurement professionals has ever faced. We are heading for a global climate catastrophe, and we all have a fundamental role to play in making a difference. As an industry, we must embrace doing things differently and give others the confidence to do the same. A difference needs to be made now.
The GSA fully supports the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP); a commitment to making change and being conscious of sustainability in our supply chains. Join the 4,900 procurement professionals who have already signed the pledge and are committing themselves creating a more sustainable future.
In this session, Kerry Hallard, CEO at the GSA, speaks to Thomas Udesen, CPO at Bayer and Co-Founder of the SPP, as he introduces the Sustainable Procurement Pledge. Thomas will share why it’s important to sign the pledge and how doing so can change the future.
Following the discussion with Thomas Udesen, CPO Bayer, and the work both the Chemical and Pharma industries have done together to share the sustainability performance of companies across their supply chains, we'd like to have an ongoing discussion about the sustainability maturity across global technology and business services providers, with the view to creating a Service Provider Sustainability Performance Index. This Index would be developed and managed by the GSA – not with the aim to name and shame poor performers, but with the aim to promote and share best practices to help the entire industry improve to positively impact climate change and improve human rights, etc. If you'd like to join the first roundtable discussion for this initiative, you can do so here.
