Founding Member of FormIGA – the global Industry for Good Alliance
At last weeks lunch & learn session, Kerry Hallard, CEO of the GSA, spoke to Thomas Udesen, CPO at Bayer and Co-Founder of the Sustainable Procurement Pledge. Thomas introduced the pledge and why it is so important that the 1 million+ procurement professionals across the world join the 4,900 who have already signed the pledge and on their way to a more sustainable future, if you missed the session you can watch it here.
Thomas also discussed the work both the Chemical and Pharma industries have done together to share sustainability performance of companies across their supply chain which unveiled an opportunity for the GSA; to have an ongoing conversation about the sustainability maturity across global technology and business services providers, with the view to create a Service Provider Sustainability Index. The Index would be developed and managed by the GSA, not with the aim to name and shame poor performers, but with the aim to promote and share best practices to help the industry improve in positively impacting climate change and improving human rights etc.
With this in mind we have set up a roundtable for discussion. We would really value your input โ we want the views of buyers, providers and advisors, to ensure if we progress with this initiative, we develop it fairly and usefully for all. We also want to know if you think itโs a bad idea.
